Visiting Phuket? Phuket has some of the best nightlife in Thailand, along with some of the world’s best beaches and hundreds of interesting things to see and do. As such, it’s no surprise that it’s one of Thailand’s top tourist destinations.
If you’re visiting Phuket and want to enjoy the nightlife, it’s important to be aware that not all hotels in Phuket are guest friendly. If you book the wrong hotel, you could be hit with joiner fees (or worse, get turned away) if you try and bring a guest back to your room after a night out.
Below, I’ve put together a list of all guest friendly hotels in Phuket, sorted into the island’s two areas (Patong and Karon/Kata). These hotels all allow guests and do not charge any hidden joiner fees.

Where Should You Stay in Phuket?
If you’re visiting Phuket for the nightlife, I highly recommend staying in Patong. This is where you’ll find 90% of Phuket’s best beer bars, go-gos and nightclubs, as well as the largest selection of guest friendly hotels in Phuket.
The heart of Phuket’s nightlife is Bangla Road — a short road, closed to traffic, that runs perpendicular to Patong Beach.
In general, I don’t recommend booking a hotel directly on Bangla Road, as this area can get extremely noisy at night. Instead, it’s best to book a hotel 1-2 blocks away from Bangla if you want to walk, or anywhere in Patong if you don’t mind taking a tuk-tuk to and from the bars. This way you’ll be close to the nightlife but far away to avoid all of the noise from the bars.
If you’re visiting Phuket for a mix of nightlife and other activities, staying in another area such as Karon, Kata, Kamala, Surin or Rawai is okay. Just be aware that you’ll need to take a tuk-tuk to and from Patong to enjoy the nightlife, which can quickly add up in price (tuk-tuks in Phuket are infamously overpriced).

Guest Friendly Hotels in Patong
Patong is Phuket’s party center, as well as the location of most of the island’s guest friendly hotels. If you’re visiting Phuket specifically for the nightlife and want to have the best possible experience, this is where you’ll want to stay.
Patong has a wide range of guest friendly hotels, from budget accommodation to some of Thailand’s nicest luxury hotels. My personal recommendations are as follows:
- Presley Guesthouse (the best budget guest friendly hotel in Patong). This place is perfectly located just 10 minutes walk away from Bangla Road and offers great value for money. About 1,000 to 1,500 baht per night.
- The Chambre Patong. Another great budget guest friendly hotel in Patong, less than five minutes walk from Bangla Road. About 1,500 to 1,800 baht per night.
- Summer Breeze Hotel. Great three star guest friendly hotel in Patong, only a minute’s walk from the nightlife on Bangla. Can get a little noisy, but tough to beat this location for convenience. About 1,500 baht per night.
- The Bliss Hotel South Beach Patong. This is my preferred four star guest friendly hotel in Patong. Big rooms, modern design, perfectly clean and a nice location right on the beach. There’s also a great pool. About 3,000 baht per night in high season, or cheaper in the low season.
If you’re visiting Patong for the first time, I recommend going with one of the options listed above. These hotels are all excellent for beginners, with excellent locations, a good level of comfort and everything else you need for a nice experience overall.
If you’re more experienced, or if the above hotels are booked out, I’ve listed all of the guest friendly hotels in Patong below. These hotels vary in quality and location, so I recommend checking that they’re convenient for you before booking. I’ve included the approximate distance from Bangla Road in each hotel’s information box to help you book accommodation as close to the nightlife as possible.
Patong Budget Guest Friendly Hotels
These hotels are the best option if you’re visiting on a budget, or simply don’t want to spend too much on accommodation. Most of these hotels are in the 1,000 to 1,500 baht per night range during high season (although some may be slightly higher in the January/February peak season). In low season you can mostly find rooms around the 1,000 baht or less price range.
I have personally verified that all of these hotels are 100% guest friendly with no hidden fees for joiners.

Patong Mid-Priced Guest Friendly Hotels
During high season, most of the hotels below are in the 1,500 to 3,000 baht per night range. If you’re visiting Phuket in the low season, you can often book rooms at many of these hotels for 1,500 baht or less. All in all, they’re a good option if you want something a little more luxurious than the budget hotels above but don’t want to stretch your budget for something five star.
Just like above, I have personally verified that all of these hotels are 100% guest friendly and do not charge joiner fees.

Patong Luxury Guest Friendly Hotels
Patong has a decent selection of four and five star hotels, although you generally won’t find Phuket’s most luxurious hotels here due to the limited amount of space to build on. Unfortunately, a lot of four and five star hotels in Phuket charge very high joiner fees, which limits the available selection.
I’ve listed all of the four and five star guest friendly hotels in Patong below. With the exception of one hotel (Duangjitt, which I’ve noted below), all of these hotels are 100% guest friendly and do not charge any joiner fees.

Guest Friendly Hotels in Kata
Located about 10km south of Patong, Kata is Phuket’s second most popular beach area. It has more of a couples and families feel than Patong, although there’s still a decent amount of fun things here for solo travelers.
Kata Beach is significantly nicer than Patong Beach, making this a better place to stay if enjoying the beach is more of a priority than the nightlife for you. Kata also has significantly better four and five star guest friendly hotels than Patong, making this a better place to stay if you want luxurious accommodation.
From Kata, it costs about 500 baht to take a tuk tuk to Patong, meaning you’ll need to add about 1,000 baht to your night out costs if you want to stay here and party in Patong at night. You can also use the Grab app (Southeast Asia’s equivalent to Uber) or hail a taxi, which is often cheaper than a tuk tuk. If you’re renting a motorbike, you can ride to Patong in about 20 minutes from Kata. Just make sure to keep your bike safe while you go out (I recommend parking it in the basement parking of Jungceylon Mall, which is guarded by security).
Kata Budget Guest Friendly Hotels
Kata has a good selection of budget guest friendly hotels. Most are in the 1,000 to 1,500 baht price range during the high season. During the low season, it’s not uncommon to find rooms here for as little as 500 baht per night.

Kata Mid-Priced Guest Friendly Hotels
Kata has a great selection of mid-priced guest friendly hotels and resorts, including many with great swimming pools and other facilities. Most of these are in the 1,500 to 3,000 baht price range during the high season, while in the low season you can often find rooms in these hotels for under 1,500 baht.

Kata Luxury Guest Friendly Hotels
Kata has a good selection of luxury guest friendly hotels and resorts, with options ranging from under 3,000 baht to 10,000+ baht per night. All of these hotels have luxurious facilities, with some offering an absolutely world class experience.
Unfortunately, some luxury hotels in Kata have started charging joiner fees (mostly in the 1,000 to 1,500 baht range). I’ve made a note of this below in each hotel’s description. Any hotels that don’t mention joiner fees are guest friendly and should not charge you for bringing back an unregistered guest, although your guest may need to leave their ID at the reception.

Guest Friendly Hotels in Karon
Karon is located between Patong and Kata. It’s a quieter part of Phuket with a nice, extremely long beach and a good variety of hotels. Like Kata, it’s great for families and couples, with much less of a party scene than Patong.
From Karon, it’s a 15 minute tuk tuk ride (about 400-500 baht) to the nightlife in Patong. While there isn’t a lot to do here, it’s a nice place to stay if you want a quieter atmosphere and a nicer beach than what’s available in Patong.
