Cambodia’s capital and largest city, Phnom Penh is a fun city to visit with a good variety of things to do. While the nightlife here isn’t quite as exciting as Bangkok or Pattaya, there’s still a vibrant scene with a variety of good clubs, bars and other places to choose from.
Most of Phnom Penh’s nightlife is found around the Riverside (mostly upmarket bars, backpacker bars and a few nightclubs) or on Street 51 (also known as Rue Pasteur 51, where you can find most of the city’s girly bars and well-known clubs like Pontoon and Heart of Darkness).
You’ll also find most of Phnom Penh’s guest friendly hotels in these areas. Since Phnom Penh is a fairly small city, it’s easy to travel between these two areas via tuktuk, or just by walking (it’s about a 10 minute walk from one area to the other).
In general, we recommend booking around Street 51 if you want to spend most of your time enjoying the nightlife.
